Description
"Table Leg Doll" is a 5" solid wood "stump" styled reproduction doll that was "Made especially for the Mission Houses Museum in Honolulu, Hawaii." She appears to be a contemporary "benefit" piece, though I do not know if such dolls are sold any longer at that Museum. Included with the doll is a history of her origins that date back to 1836 when missionary Lorrin Andrews handmade such a doll from a wooden table leg for his daughter Sarah Andrews. The original doll resides in the collection of the Mission Houses Museum.PLEASE study the photos carefully and email with all questions! My photos detail her condition accurately. Though I have tried to provide an honest and detailed description, I may have omitted information that is important to you. I have also provided photos that "speak volumes."
