Up for sale is an absolutely pristine-perfect vintage cheese compote in the "Chintz" etched pattern by Fostoria! Fostoria made the Chintz pattern during the 1940s, and it’s extremely popular and collectible. The finely-etched pattern contains lots of beautifully detailed flowers, vines, buds and leaves. This compote has a scalloped upturned border, and there are embossed fleur de lis on the underside (the glassware pattern is called "Baroque"). It stands 3 inches high, and it measures 5 1/4 inches in diameter across the top. It's in wonderful condition - there are no chips, cracks, flakes, fleabites, nicks or roughness anywhere, and the glass is nice and shiny bright with no stains, utensil scratches, or oxidation whatsoever. The Chintz pattern can be seen photographed in Coe’s “Elegant Glass – Early, Depression & Beyond”. The buyer will pay shipping. Shipping will be combined for the buyer of more than one item whenever practical. Shipping is normally within 24 hours after receipt of PayPal payment (if other payment options are desired, please don’t hesitate to inquire). Please feel free to e-mail any other questions or requests for additional photos, and thanks very much for looking!! Be sure to see my other fantastic items by clicking on the link above.
