This is vintage artists David Chapman and Paul Robinson of "The Old Pretender"custom Queen Anne Reproduction wooden doll. David and Paul offer the finest quality authentic reproductions made in the likeness of 17th and 18th century woodens and each creation is a one of a kind. I contacted the artists as this doll was not marked. They were so kind to answer. They confirmed they are the artists that made this unique doll in 2007. The said she was a part of a "family group" they made that did not adhere to historic accuracy but allowed artistic license to come into play. They named these dolls the "Blue Eyed Family".This is an excerpt of what they wrote "Back in 2007 we just had some fun and allowed artistic license to come into play a bit with a family group we made called the Blue Eyed family. The antique blue eyed English woodens were mostly all from the early 19th century and we did make a couple for clients that were historically accurate but this family was just a bit of fun...They were all characters. The original family finally sold to an antique doll museum. I have attached a photo of the original family for you to see" The last photo I have included is the photo they sent of this original family. They are NOT included in this listing. They are for reference. The doll that is included in this listingis second from the right in the last photo. This doll has all the detailing of custom made enamel eyes and meticulously hand made costume as the artists are known for. She measures approximately 6 1/4" to the top of her head and 6 3/4" including her hair.A truly unique, whimsical, custom doll from the wonderful Old Pretenders artists.
